#488 Walking to the mountains 18 Avril 2010
Attention, il est important de considérer que cet article est une archive, son contenu est probablement obsolète!

After less than few months in San Francisco, I finally got a chance to head the San Bruno's Mountain State Park.
Started this morning at 9:30, this journey has been a walk for about 8 hours. I've passed through different neighborhoods: Soma, Mission, Bernal Heights, Glen Park and some other before entering in Daly City. Once I got out of the downtown, I mainly followed Mission Street which drives directly to my destination.
Houses, stores, ambiance, it's amazing to see how things change quickly: you're in a nice place where trees are mixed with victorian houses and one block after: all you can see it Béton, small car shops and tree-less environments. You have to count about 3 hours to get there (use the GPS of your Android make things way easier!).
Around noon, the fog usually comes back: the hills on the other side are disappearing eaten by this impressive monster. Taking good photographies of this effect is not an easy job. I tried but didn't succeed at all.
Once you get there, you have a great view of the town. You can see the downtown as well as the two bridges (Golden Gate and Bay Bridge), you can also admire the East Bay. Strangely the water is more blueish than you can expect. At the end of the journey, I feel pretty happy about what I saw and discovered (except for some things on the road).

Next time, I'll have to try Angel Island, Alcatraz (sounds like too much touristic but why not?) and for adventure to find a way to do some Skydiving. But I might need to get my permit first! Lot of things are going on, stay tuned!
